The DC marriage license application is interactive and can be completed online.

Required Photo ID

Be prepared to provide your photo ID (only one for each of you):

-Current US issued drivers license (scan & send front side only) or

-Current US issued learners permit

-Current passport (mail copy of first 2 pages notarized in English) or

-US Military ID (scan and send front and back) or

-US Immigration green card (scan and send front and back)

Name Change

You cannot change your names using this process. Name changes occurs after you are married and have a valid certified copy of the marriage certificate.  Learn more
