How to Officiate Your Self-Uniting Marriage

Each party to the marriage will alternate speaking.

I take you to be my spouse (substitute husband or wife here).

You can write your own vows, so be creative. Your vows don’t have to be long. They should be honest and realistic. See sample below.

I welcome this new chapter in our lives as spouse and spouse (substitute husband or wife)

I promise to be there for you, in sickness and health, in grief or sorrow, in joy and happiness.

I promise to never walk out of your life or out of our bed.

I promise to be faithful to you, even when temptation comes my way.

And I promise to try hard to compromise, even when I don’t want to.

And I will cherish you all the days of my life.

This is my solemn vow.

Place ring on the ring finger.

I give you this ring as a sign of my love, my determination for a happy and successful marriage.

We’re married! Give it up (the couple kiss to seal their marriage vows).
